Let your guest bathroom reflect your style!
One room in your home that many times is an afterthought is the guest bathroom. I think that ignoring this room, in terms of style is a huge mistake. Most of the time, when you have guests in your home, the only rooms they see are your main living areas, including the guest bathroom. Don’t forget to add your style to this room!
Our home is Texas Hill Country style. Most rooms reflect this rustic ranch feel with Texas stars, cow print, horses, and other country decor. We brought that same style into the guest bathroom. I love words that lift us up and have incorporated them throughout our home. The guest bathroom is no exception. I can’t think of any greater advice than to “Saddle up and follow your dreams.”
As you likely know, our children live in other states and so when they come to visit, we become their hotel as well. Even though they’re our kids, we still want them to feel like they are our guests and I don’t want them to have to pack all of their toiletries. I try to have baskets of these necessities in our guest bathrooms (we actually have two full guest bathrooms. I’m just showing our downstairs bathroom).
Just remember that the guest bathroom is just an extension of your main house. It’s not a room that your visitors will spend a lot of time in but, you still want them to feel welcome and comfortable there. And you also want your style to shine through; it’s a part of who you are. The great thing is that, in most homes, this is a fairly small room so it doesn’t take much to really reflect your style. This is a great place to start if you’re just in the beginning stages of decorating.

I love the Kleenex box, I tried the mason jar for Kleenex and it turned out very cute, but I had trouble getting the tissues to come out without ripping. I’m going to be making myself one like yours.

Sue- Isn’t that Kleenex box the cutest! I think I got that at Kirklands. I love how creative everyone seems to be getting with the Mason jars. There are just so many cute possibilities. I hate that your Kleenex holder didn’t work out. I wouldn’t even know where to begin to make one of the boxes like mine! I’d love to be able to really know how sew or embroider, there’s just not enough hours in the day to do all I’d like to do. Thanks for stopping by! Blessings- Kelly

Although I live in Indiana, Texas is one of my favorite places to visit (might have something to do with who I am visiting). I just love the whole state and I love your design style as well. My style is very eclectic but I do enjoy you designs very much.

Diana- Thanks so much for stopping by and for taking time to leave me a message. Clearly, I’m in love with Texas! Your style sounds a little more like my youngest daughter’s style; a little more eclectic but still warm and inviting. I just always want my style to reflect my heart, and my heart wants people to feel comfortable and welcome. Of course I want it look pretty too! I think it’s the same for everyone who takes time to surround themselves with the things they love whatever the style. I hope your next trip to Texas is soon and fun! Blessings!
