Is a move in your future? Right now you may not have any plans on ever selling your home. We’d never thought about moving from the home where we raised our girls. Then suddenly they’d graduated from college and one settled in Birmingham and the other married a pilot in the Air Force. These big changes in our family meant that our family home would need to basically become a hotel. By then, we were down to just one guest room and someone would be relegated to an air mattress when they both visited. So it was time to sell the family home and move into something bigger. 

Thankfully, we had been doing home improvements along the way that increased its value when it was time to sell. The same can be said for converting your basement. In Texas, basements are scarce, but I’d love to have that extra space. More and more people are looking for homes that have the most modern technology. Adding smart accessories will enhance the value of your home. Thermostats that can be programmed from your cell phone is an easy install. Entertainment systems with a central control are a great addition. Security systems that include cameras that endlessly record, make people feel safer in their homes. It’s a plus if that’s a part of your amenities. Your life will be made better by making these enhancements, the fact that they increase the value of your home is a bonus. 

Your home is your biggest investment. It’s of the utmost importance to get a return on that investment when it’s time to sell.
