It’s the season to fire up the grill for great summer dining! Grilling meats is a great way to add flavor and reduce the fat for healthier cooking. How about adding some new; interesting side dishes to compliment the meat you’ve prepared? It’s ok to veer a little off the traditional path for sides that add a little punch to your meals. New side dishes add a level of interest and flavor that everyone are sure to enjoy.

Greek Potato Salad

When you think of Greek food, you most likely think about gyros, spanakopita, and grape leaves. While those are great Greek foods, most include a delicious tzatziki sauce. Tzatziki is a yogurt-based, cucumber and dill combination that adds that perfect light, cool, and yummy flavor to any dish. 

You can use tzatziki sauce to jazz up your traditional potato salad. In the same spirit as German potato salad or ranch potato salad, tzatziki potato salad does not rely on mayonnaise for its creamy texture. Instead, the lemony zestiness from this Greek sauce will have your friends and family lining up for more. It’s a great alternative to heavier mayo, especially on those hot summer days. 

Vietnamese Noodle Bowl

Whether you like it spicy or mild, having a sample of a Vietnamese noodle bowl at your barbecue will be a hit with those that like to add a bit of spice to their meal. By adding your chicken, beef, or pork from the grill to a Vietnamese vermicelli bowl, you will be creating an amazing dish your family is sure to love. You can create spicy and mild sauces so everyone can enjoy a heat level that is comfortable for them.

Grilled Cauliflower

Cauliflower is everywhere these days. Grilling it adds an additional flavor layer that takes it to the next level. By cutting the cauliflower into slices, you have a larger area to add your favorite seasonings. Try any variety of grill seasoning to the cauliflower to add as much flavor and punch as you’d like.
