It’s Friday Favorites Linky Party Time!
I began this week journeying home from seeing my precious granddaughter Emmaline. It’s quite a ways from where she is in Mississippi to under my Texas sky! The fact that she, my daughter, and her husband are stationed eight hours away never gets easier. Happily my oldest daughter and her fiance were able to make it in from Birmingham as well so the entire family was together which fills my heart with such joy. We even got to see my son-in-law fly in formation with a couple of students- which was very cool! We’re so proud of the job he’s doing as a flight instructor in the Air Force. He’s our true Captain America.
I’ve gotten some great feedback this week on my post on creating a faux shiplap wall. Shiplap is all the rage these days and well, I don’t live in a 100 year old farmhouse, so to get the shiplap look, I had to get creative. I created this look as an accent wall in my laundry room! It could not be easier and I hope you are brave enough to give it a try.
Now let’s get going on this weeks features! My pick this week is Chicken and Fruit Salad from Miz Helen’s Country Cottage. This is a GREAT combination of flavors. I can’t wait to try it.

First off I would like to say fantastic blog! I had a quick question that
I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested
to know how you center yourself and clear your thoughts before writing.
I’ve had a tough time clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out.
I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like
the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints?
Appreciate it!

Britney- That’s a good question. I guess I just try to spend time going over the project I’m writing about. I try to just present things in the clearest way and ultimately my personality comes through. I do read and re-read my posts and end up changing some things as I go. It really is a difficult thing, I totally get where you’re coming from. I’m glad you stopped by. Blessings!
