So, we got lots accomplished this week! Master bedroom- check, Emmaline’s room- check, upstairs guest room- check! My daughter and granddaughters are actually going to be able to spend the night with us tonight! Several weeks ago, I decided that I needed to be more realistic with the renovation. Instead of getting the second floor exactly as I ultimately want it, I decided that we are just going to have to make the best of what we have. This meant scrubbing and cleaning floors, walls, baseboards, and the like. After scrubbing the floors in each room, we then use Rejuvenate to bring the shine and luster back. It’s worked out really well. Yes the wallpaper has noticeable seams and the baseboards aren’t as sparkling as I’d like, but the rooms are clean and fresh. I can be happy with this. Oh, and our new parlor furniture is being delivered next Wednesday! Cannot wait!

Party Time!

So, now let’s get this party started. My feature for this week is DIY Fall Door Decor from Celebrating Everyday Life. This is such a beautiful arrangement and such a clever container! I absolutely love the colors. The little acorn ornaments and simple bow make this the perfect fall accent.

This Maple Glazed Butternut Squash with Bacon recipe makes an easy side dish during the autumn months. It also works great as a delicious breakfast with a fried egg on top.
