The unsettled nature of the world today can affect the way we see our lives. Our happiness seems tied to the circumstances in which we find ourselves. That’s why you need to find ways to lift yourself up. A good place to start is a a quick examination of your daily life. Find ways improve your life and attitude.

What is filling your thoughts?

How do you spend the majority of your time? Most people spend the majority of their time on their jobs. But, while on the job are you constantly listening to the news? That’s a sure way to bring you down. There seems to be very little good news these days. When you spend hours feeding your mind with negative images, it’s sure be troubling.

I’m not suggesting that you bury your head in the sand and pretend everything in the world is hunky dory. But, I’m saying you should limit the time you are filling your mind with news. If social media is a source of stress, make a point to only check it once or twice a day. Get your information, but don’t allow that to be the only thing you fill your mind with.

Crack open a book

Reading is the escape I use. I have a Kindle and use Kindle Unlimited which allows me to have 10 titles in my reader all the time. There is a small subscription fee. I love to let the books I read take me away to different places and I get to know lots of characters. It’s a great break from the real world.

Change Your Diet

If you find yourself feeling sluggish and altogether unwell, a change of diet may be the easy fix. If your daily diet is filled with heavy, fatty foods, it’s going to affect not only your weight, but your overall wellbeing. It might mean that you need to try some different foods that will satisfy your cravings but can also be beneficial like protein bread. Protein affects practically every process of a cell. It helps your metabolism and gives you energy, and also helps in the formation of blood cells and aids assists in cellular repair.

Focus on feeling good

Food isn’t the only thing that can help us feel better and more content. It’s ok to pamper yourself. It may be a small thing, but if you love a particular perfume, splurge on a small bottle. Buying your favorite toner can give your face a great fresh feeling and that, in turn, makes you feel good about yourself.

Feeling good doesn’t have to cost money. Take some time to go to the park. Soak in some sun, relax, and just be. Force yourself to slow down and remember what it’s like to enjoy the little things. A good sit on the front porch can do wonders.

Follow your dream

Is there something you’ve always wanted to do, but have been too afraid to try it? Today is a great day to start. It doesn’t matter how lofty the goal. You have to start somewhere. Do you have an amazing idea for a book? Start writing. Who knows, you may have the next great American novel in your imagination and it just needs to get on paper.

Are you a crafter? Find some local craft fairs and start selling items you’ve made. There are lots of selling sites where you can market your items as well. Do your research and get started. When you start feeling like you’re fulfilling a purpose, your quality of life will grow and grow.

If you just pause and take a look around, you’ll find ways to lift yourself up. You’re worth it so indulge yourself every now and again.
